About

I’m Deanna Spiby. I’m 31, I live in Bude, and before I did this, I spent my days caring for people as part of the team at St Annes Residential Home.
That’s where this all started, really. Looking after people taught me how much the small things matter — being gentle, taking your time, explaining what’s happening so nobody feels worried. I also saw how hard it was for people to get something as simple as their ears cleared, especially since the NHS stopped offering it in so many places.
So in 2024 I trained in microsuction and ear wax removal and started DS Microsuction, to bring gentle, affordable ear care to Bude and the surrounding towns — without the long waits and without any fuss.
Here’s the part I love: I now look after the residents at St Annes — the very home where I used to work. Going back to care for the residents I know, in a place that means a lot to me, feels like everything coming full circle.

I want you to feel completely at ease, so I never rush. Before we start, I’ll show you a model of the ear and use a small camera to show you what’s going on inside your own ears, right there on the screen. Most people are fascinated — and a lot less nervous once they can see it for themselves.
Then I’ll gently remove the wax using microsuction or water irrigation, checking you’re comfortable at every step. I’m told I’m especially good with children and with anyone who finds appointments a bit daunting — we just take it slowly. And if you don’t need treatment? I’ll tell you. You’ll only ever pay for what you actually need.
I’m trained and insured in microsuction and water irrigation, and in carrying out ear health checks. I keep my skills and knowledge up to date so you’re in safe, careful hands.
I’m proud to sponsor Think Like A Pony – South West, a charity that supports children’s mental health.
I’ll happily pop to your home anywhere across Bude, Holsworthy and Launceston — I’d love to help you hear clearly again. — Deanna 💛
